About me…

December 21st, 2009

Hi, my name is Dave Cranfield.  I’ve been wholesaling life insurance to independent financial advisors for 13 years now.  I’ve worked in both a high-volume call-center environment brokering insurance to brokers, and now in a high-service boutique shop.  I’m the guy behind the scenes on whom agents rely to be a “know-it-all” so they can focus on what they do best, which is foster client relationships.  I’m the one they call and ask, “Dave, I’ve got a case, what do I do with it?”

Over the years I’ve dealt with thousands of agents and tens of thousands of cases.  However, every time I think I’ve seen it all, I see something new.  I love what I do, and am always absorbing as much information as I can.  I read a ton of industry news and receive updates on planning and sales ideas from dozens of insurance companies.  So, that’s why I’ve made this blog.  As I read news, come across interesting (ok, to me as an insurance nerd it’s interesting!) situations with my brokers, mull over planning and sales concepts, discover a helpful niche with a company or product, or just have a random insurance-related thought, I want to share it with you – the insurance or financial advisor.  I want to be a person to spur others on to greater thought in assisting their clients.

Here’s the obligatory disclaimers –

1.  While I am the Director of Marketing for Producer’s Financial Network, LLC (www.pfnco.com), this blog doesn’t necessarily reflect the views of my company.  These are personal observations.

2.  I’m not a CPA nor an attorney.  I’m an insurance guy.  Whatever I post is my own personal interpretation and not specific legal or tax counsel.  Before you or your clients implement any strategy that deals with such issues, you’ll want to consult with a CPA or attorney.
